Our digital spaces bring the power of digital technology to rural Kenya, through open access to equipment, skills, and opportunities to improve their communities.
Program Objective
Bring digital technology equipment to women and communities in rural Kenya, and create open access to the opportunities that it provides for learning, earning, improving self-confidence, and connecting with the digital world from which they are currently excluded.
Eligibility Criteria
* Legally registered Kenyan organisation in operation for at least 2.5 years
* Women focused or community driven organisations or programs
* Alternative learning institutions -Traditional schools are not eligible-
* Forefront digital technology agenda
* Experience implementing activities with a partner organisation
* Clear, demonstrable results in targeted activities
* Readily available room for installation
* Located in rural Western Kenya
Commitment Conditions
* Modify the room to meet our digital space guidelines
* Dedicate a digital space administrator for the duration of the program
* Maintain and repair the provided equipment in the best manner possible
* Allow community access and usage of the digital space
* Safeguarding of children, women, and vulnerable groups
* Provide periodic status reports on the program
* Transparent management of the digital lab
